Agriculture and Fisheries
The Council (Agriculture and Fisheries) is one of the oldest formations in the EU and it handles the EU's Common Agricultural Policy. Additionally, the Council also sets the EU policy on the fisheries and food sectors. The agricultural and fisheries policies relate, among other things, to the regulation of markets, production planning and the determination of the available resources. The Council consists of the Member States’ ministers of fisheries or agriculture and they meet about once a month.
