Although the Council is one body, in practice it is organized into ten different configurations depending on the topics and policies that are at issue. Thus, for example Environment ministers who deal with EU environmental policy, and transport ministers, negotiating EU transport policy.

What is on the Presidency agenda?

Below you can read more about the 10 Council formations and what the ministers will deal with during the Danish EU Presidency. EU policy covers a wide range of areas, ranging from gender politics to foreign policy, and within each policy area, there are a number of important cases which will be on the ministers agenda during the six months Denmark is chairman of the Council.
