The door is ajar for a number of countries' Membership of the EU, but what are the prospects of the new countries' accession? A new and strong Europe must be build and the Danish EU Presidency will work for a positive outcome.

Join us, when the Minister for European Affairs, Nicolai Wammen, debates the enlargement of the EU together with two researchers from the University of Aarhus, professor Philipp Schröder, Department of Economics and Business, and Associate Professor Derek Beach, Department of Political Science. Afterwards, the audience is invited to participate in the debate.

Time and place: Monday 7 May at 15.00 - 16.30, Aulaen, Ndr. Ringgade 4, Universitet of Aarhus.

The lecture will be conducted in English. It is free of charge and everyone is welcome as long as there is room. After the lecture, a recpetion will be held in 'Vandrehallen' at the university.

About the lecture series

In cooperation with the University of Copenhagen, Aarhus University and the European Commission the Danish EU Presidency hosts a lecture series that focuses on some of the challenges Europe is facing today. Each lecture has a theme on which prominent speakers will relate to in an introduction to a debate. Afterwards the audience is invited to participate in the debate.
