On Monday the 30 January the EU Heads of State or Government will convene in Brussels for an informal meeting of the European Council. An agreement on the fiscal compact may be reached. In addition, growth and employment policies, and especially youth unemployment will be on the agenda. The meeting in the European Council will be chaired by the Permanent President, Herman van Rompuy.
The EU Ministers for Justice and Home Affairs have at the informal Council meeting in Copenhagen arrived at important conclusions concerning the fight against international crime and a better management of flows of immigrants and refugees.
Today, the negotiations on the Multi-annual Financial Framework (MFF) took off in the General Affairs Council under Danish Presidency with Minister for European Affairs, Mr Nicolai Wammen, as chair. Today the Minister for European Affairs Nicolai Wammen attended the debate on Hungary in the European Parliament on behalf of the Council of the EU.
