Ida Ferdinand and Ane Vester exhibit at Aloft Hotel in Brussels

09.05.2012  -  31.08.2012

Ida Ferdinand exhibits at Aloft Hotel in Brussels from January 11th to April 27th and Ane Vester exhibits at the same hotel May 9th to August 31st.

The Hotel A-loft is designed in every detail. Cosy, nice fashion in the lobby. Lots of bold and extravagant colours are framing the space. The artist Ida F. Ferdinand is using a great number of bold an extravagant colours in her paintings too. And the paintings exhibited in the lobby in A-loft are certainly bold stripes. Working in a non-objective visual language she connects to the interior of a-loft in a way where paintings, interior design and space do merge in to each other.

Ida F. Ferdinand is born in Copenhagen, but now lives and works in Brussels, Belgium.
Ida F. Ferdinand has an outstanding persistent artistic career in the visual artist focusing on non-figurative expression.  She has a long list of exhibitions in galleries and museums all over the world in her curriculum. She works in painting, photograph, and cite specific projects. Her exhibitions always designed in dialogue with the given space.

The work of Ane Vester has through the years touched upon different levels in our world experience, strained as it is between bodily anchored sensory perception, cognition, memory and history. With the most simple possible means and based on a self-imposed expressive minimalism, Ane Vester tries to produce experiential qualities, which scope extends far beyond the specific material as it for instance includes the full space it appears in.

Through her work, it is possible to maintain a dual focus on the world: the starting point is always sensuous given, an object in space, a colour, a specific surface, but the material opens up onto an otherness, a conceptual spatial context, which displaces it in unexpected directions. Hereby, she examines things, especially the colour expansion, their extension into memory, the personal history or otherwise conferred spender space.

Ane Vester is born in Viborg, Denmark but now works and lives in Brussels.
