Raising achievement for all learners is an imperative – quality education in inclusive settings is a strategy to accomplish this. The ‘Raising Achievement for all Learners’ project, conducted by the European Agency for Development in Special Needs Education will explore the factors that support raising achievement for all learners in inclusive settings.
A major conference organised in collaboration with the Danish Ministry of Education and the Odense Municipal authorities will be held in Odense, Denmark from 13th -15th June 2012. The conference will be opened by the Minister for Children and Education, Ms Christine Antorini, and will be an official event under the Danish Presidency of the EU.
The conference will be attended by policy makers for both general and inclusive education from 28 European countries, together with researchers in inclusive education who can provide information on national initiatives and research focused on raising achievement. Representatives of European institutions (notably the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Education and Culture) and other organisations active in this area of work will also attend the conference as speakers or participants.
The conference will aim to:
- develop a clear rationale in relation to quality education in inclusive settings as a strategy for raising achievement for all learners
- identify and synthesise relevant information and research in order to provide recommendations and key policy messages relating to raising achievement in national and European contexts.
The outcomes of the event will be used as the basis for further development work by the Agency from 2012-2014.
This project is supported with a grant from the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union.
