Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt will attend an informal dinner in the European Council on May 23. The purpose of the dinner is to discuss how to boost growth and jobs creation in the EU. The aim of the dinner is to have an initial political discussion of the elements of a future growth pact, which will hopefully be adopted by the European Council in June.
Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt states:
“Growth and jobs have from the very beginning of our EU-Presidency been at the top of Denmark’s agenda. It is therefore very positive that the agenda of growth and jobs creation is so widely supported in the EU. We will use the last part of our Presidency to create the foundation for an ambitious growth pact at the June European Council”.
