During the session, the Minister will launch the EU's new Citizen’s Initiative together with European Parliament President Martin Schulz and commissioner Maroš Šefčovič.
”We have taken important and very positive steps over the last few months in the Balkan enlargement processes. It is an important priority for the Presidency to create a positive momentum of progress in these negotiations. I would especially point to the fact that we were able to accord Serbia candidate status after we achieved very real and important agreements in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. Now we have a whole new basis for progress on one of the most difficult issues and the EU's cooperation and dialogue with the countries is a key driver in this,” says Nicolai Wammen.
The European Parliaments session starts Wednesday 28 March and ends on Thursday 29 March.
